Survive 2

I've been drafting this post on and off for a while.

I wasn't originally going to acknowledge the absence but at this point it's been almost a year so I figure I should say something.

 My writing mojo still isn't back but I've been pushing through Survive bit by bit. I have the entire thing plotted in my head, I'm just trying to figure out how to write it down.  

Survive

To recap, this is my Years x New Aeterna crossover where my Years characters get caught up in The Siege.

I have been gripping on to Lile's Aeterna-verse work like a life raft when writing this. So much of my inspiration has come from doing multiple re-reads of NA, QC, Little Rebellions, Arrow and Rogue and then picking places between the lines where I can slip in. I'm having fun figuring out ways to exist in the worlds she created. 

I am forever in awe of the NA lore.

IDK if this is surprising or not but Little Rebellions and Queen and Country have been the most informative.

Recap

I think of this fanfic as being serialized so I'll hit the high points that matter to this part of the story. It's gotten longer than I planned but only because I want to show some different POVs. It will likely be about 35-40K including what I've already posted.

Survive is a Years!AU where Luce recovers from his car accident  and he and Haley have a daughter named Sailor 9 months after they get married. They get trapped in New Aeterna when Sailor is two weeks old.

 - Luce is microchipped ( I can't remember if this is from NA or if I made this up ?)  as a New Aeterna citizen and forced to work for the Regime. 

- Haley, Nova and Sailor don't register. They hide in the 250-square-foot illegal basement apartment underneath Luce's assigned apartment. The only come outside for a few failed escape attempts.

-  After 7 years, Luce is assigned to work at Helion Castle. One night he never comes back home from work.

- 6 months later, Haley, Nova and Sailor start running out of food. Haley goes out to find food. He never comes back.

- Another 6 months later, on Sailor's 8th birthday, a woman named Genesis comes to the basement with a video recording of Luce. He says they can trust Genesis and she tells them she is taking them away to a safe house.

My playlists are basically me pillaging Lile's NA-verse playlists. I've been writing to like "snowstorm crackling fireplace" ambiences lately so I'm not getting much song inspo these days.

This chapter is going to tell what happened to Luce. Then the next chapter is what happened to Nova/Sailor and then it circles back to what happened to Haley.
